Have you heard about “The Doorway Effect”? This can happen in the digital space when you move into a different tab. You break the flow of what you are actually supposed to do. This might happen when reading digitally. Perhaps you look up terminology, take notes, use chatbots to regenerate, sound-to-text or just lose concentration? Our common experience of reading became the starting point for this project. We needed a reading tool for a better learning experience. And if we felt the need for this, most likely others feel the same way.

“We want to explore different ways of presenting long and static text, to enhance the learning experience for university students reading subject literature”

We wanted to have an exploratory process, where I created clickable prototypes of the discussed concepts throughout the process, which we tested along the way. The concepts were based on insights gathered from interviews, workshops, and desk research. We continuously tested and engaged with students throughout the process, and I developed prototypes that incorporated the syllabus the test subjects were currently studying at university for longer test runs and more in-depth feedback.

My Role: - Responsible for prototyping (UX/UI)📱 - Interviews🙋‍♀️ - Workshop✍️ - Conversation with external partner🤝 - Sketching📝 - Testing🤳 - Visual profile🖍️ - Illustrations✏️ - Presentations👋 - Research📔-

The process behind the product ..

We chose to have an exploratory process. We decided that I was main responsible for prototyping for testing in addition to the final prototype. We discussed the concept with Aschehoug for additional feedback, which influenced the concept development.
